We woke up to another very warm and windy day. It was 31 degrees C plus humidity- 3 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. We started our day with a walk down the beach before having breakfast.

We planned to spend another morning exploring different beaches and climbing the shoreline rocks.

The first beach we explored was Playa El Jobo next to the “Dreams by Marriott” hotel. Even with this fairly large hotel located here, there were very few people on the beach.

We were able to walk quite far on the rocks at the end of the beach.

The tide was out so we were able to do some of the walking in the water and on the wet sand.

We saw some interesting things along the way….this hole was about a foot deep.

Mike always wants to see what’s around the next corner….

A couple of spots were a bit tricky. There was one place where we needed to jump across an opening between the rocks where the waves were splashing in.

We doubled back and explored the rocks at the other end of the beach. We ran into another couple doing the same thing, which is very rare for us.

The rocks were quite different on this side of the beach. There were lots of smaller, round boulders and then sections with very flat rock of different colours.

We got in our rental car and headed out to find a secluded beach I had read about. It was a very steep and bumpy drive up a hill to the parking area. Then a bit of a technical trail down to Playa Bejuco.

We arrived at a small but beautiful deserted beach. The ocean was calm so we were able to cool off in the water.

We went to the left side of the beach and started hiking over the rocks.

We didn’t get very far before we realized that if we had gone around one more corner on the previous hike, we would have arrived at this beach.

We had lunch at the Naked Indian again. It was very hot, and the owners kindly set up a fan for us.
Mike had the nachos this time and I had pineapple pizza and a Pina Colada.

After lunch we headed back to the resort. During a walk down the beach we noticed the wind had calmed down. We were finally able to sit by the pool to read. Unfortunately it didn’t end well. When we got up to change for dinner, I wrapped my towel around myself and felt an extremely painful sting on my bottom. It was from a large wasp. It left me with a very large, circular area which was rough and raised up. We got some ice which helped a tiny bit.Sitting was not comfortable for several days. The mark took several weeks to disappear.

The hotel served a Valentine’s Day dinner tonight. (3 days late) Mike and I shared some sweet and sour spare ribs with ice cream and key lime pie for dessert.
